SLS && Flight Commander Training May. 27th, 2007 @ 03:52 pm

Woohoo. SLS is just a week away! I'm heading to ASU, even though I signed up to go to UTSA. But, from the remarks of cadets who went last year, UTSA was a walk in the park.
Hmmm. Oh well, I'm excited!

Also, is the Klein area having a Flight Commander training camp....thingy? I've heard my Unarmed commander talking about it.

Hey guys. I recently did my scheduling for next school year (I'll be in ninth grade) and have joined AFJROTC. I've been looking forward to this all my life, but the apprehension has set in. Could any of you tell me what I should be expecting (concerning activites/physical requirements)? I'd really appreciate it.

College Station && State Mar. 24th, 2007 @ 10:14 am

OK, so KCHS was disappointed with ourselves at College Station. We really did not give it our all, as we had in Alabama.
Upsetting.
But we plan on doing our best at State next week. Us Lady Flying Tigers want to finally bring it home.
Yesss!

Anyone else going to State?
Im feeling it already!

Has anyone noticed... Feb. 22nd, 2007 @ 08:43 pm

.. the lack of scores from drill meets being sent out? We used to get a general scoresheet for all schools and our individual judging schoresheets from each TI that judged the drill. The last three drill meets in the TX area, my unit nor any of our district's units have recieved these scores. It's very frustrating for me as a team commander to not know what the TIs thought we needed to improve on. I get feedback after the drill of course but the scoresheets helped me a lot. I don't understand why they no longer mail out scoresheets to units after a drill meet. Anyone else face this dilemma?

Klein Collins Flying Tigers are already at State. We took home 11 tropheys at our first meet, and I am happy to say that I will be in this drill meet, coming up on the 4th.
But boy, do I have some perfecting to do. So, anyone else going to this competition? It's in Houston, where exactly, not a clue!

I graduated #1 at CSLS (Cadet staff leadership school). There were about 160-200 cadets there. It was rather easy, some parts were difficult for me due to my asthma, but my SASI did tell me that our unit was of a way higher standard there than some units... I'm not sure on that yet. My flightmate got #2 rank too, so that's cool. Anyone else go to CSLS at San Marcos, TX last week?
» TAMU
i see alot of yall are from texas...any of yall planning on going to TAMU? being in the corps?

they have this JCAP program that i may apply for. my SASI got a call from the corps telling him about it, so even us alaskan's get to go.

» esprit de corps
in yall's rotc wing/group/squadron, are superiors allowed to issue esprit de corps (pushups) to cadets found doing something wrong (i.e.: talking back, swearing, Public Displays of Affection, wearing hats in class, being disrespectful, being late to class, etc...)

i want to know if it's a national rule, or something our instructors just made up so we have no discipline.
